Thimble

Kept as a long cone, wide at the top and tapering to a blunt rounded tip, so the scales wrap right around instead of showing a flat face. They stack in staggered rows, tan and olive with fine brown lines along each ridge and small pale seed ends catching the light. Turquoise fills the gaps beneath the scales in rounded drops, so the pattern reads as blue spots on a tan ground the whole way down.

The resin is poured over the full body and sanded back round, glossy enough to throw a white highlight along one side. There is no cut edge to finish, so the surface runs smooth from the tip up to the collar at the top. It hangs from a small wire loop on a pale braided cord, and it turns as it hangs, so the spotted pattern keeps shifting.
