Cut at an angle so the face reads as a rounded triangle, wide at the top and drawn down to a blunt point. The scales stack in tight rows, tan and honey at the top where they end in flat facets with dark lines between them, then darkening down the piece to rust and near-black. Low on the face a cluster of pale, oval seed ends sits in among the rows, cream against the dark.
The resin is poured thick and domed, glassy enough to throw a hard white highlight down the middle. It wraps the edge so the whole outline is smooth and the scale ends are sealed flush. The other face is lighter, with the scale rows fanning out from the top and a couple of pale rounds near the middle, so it changes when it turns on the cord. It hangs from a coiled copper loop on a pale braided cord.
