Galactic

Cut across the cone into a broad oval with a scalloped edge where the scale ends break the outline. On the front face the scales run in arcs from the top down, tan and honey at the upper edge, then rust and near-black through the lower half, with dark lines between every row. Turquoise sits in the gaps as thin veins and short dashes, brightest across the upper middle. Down the center there is a patch of fine glitter, black specks with the odd green and blue fleck, sitting over pale seed ends. The back face is paler, with a cream starburst near the top sending rays out over dark red and brown.

The resin is poured thick and glassy, high enough to throw hard white highlights across the face, and it wraps the edge so the scalloped tips are sealed flush. A stray fibre or two is caught in the pour near the left side. It hangs from a coiled copper loop on a pale braided cord, and the two faces read very differently as it turns.
